We offer a variety of services, and a little preparation can help to ensure the best possible experience. Before coming in especially for waxing or tanning, here are some tips on how to prepare for your appointment.
We use tanning products by Sjolie, a local family owned and operated business that sources out the world’s finest naturally derived ingredients and materials to produce quality natural sunless tanning products that we customize to your desired skin tone.
Currently Lauren is the only esthetician providing this service.
Gently buff away dry skin before treatment with a natural exfoliator
Makes your tan last much longer by revealing new skin
Wax at least 24-48 hours before
Allows the pores to close
Shave 24 hours before and apply a rich moisturizer right after
Replenishes dry skin
Moisturize generously the day before, ideally overnight
Prevents dryness and provides a good base for tanning
Rinse off any products, perfume, oils, moisturizers and make up
Provides a clean surface
Try to wear loose, dark clothes with fabrics like cotton and jersey, all without any tight waistbands or straps before and after spray tanning
Tight clothing can remove recently added color
Take some hair ties along with you especially if you have long hair
Keeps your hair off the back of your neck and shoulders
If you have to run any errands after your spray tan, you should take deodorant to apply after your tan has set
This one is pretty self explanatory!
Apply nail polish to fingers and toes
Helps to protect the nails from any discoloration that may happen
We use Berodin Blue hard wax because it is gentle yet effective. This wax is stripless, allowing for the esthetician to apply the wax in multiple sections without the fear of breaking. The wax adheres firmly to fine and coarse hair without sticking to skin and is heated at a low temperature to minimize irritation.
Please shower before your appointment
You catch our drift (in a pinch, wet wipes are a lifesaver!)
Hair must be a quarter of an inch long (about 10-14 days of growth)
This makes sure the wax will adhere correctly
Resist the urge to shave between sessions
Shaving chafes the skin and creates sharper, coarser hair
Gently exfoliating with a gentle dry brush, exfoliating scrub, or acne cleanser, or having a warm bath or shower
Softens your skin, allowing for easier hair removal
Come to your appointment as relaxed as you can
Anticipation is often worse than the actual event; don’t listen to friends who tell you their waxing horror stories, this is your experience and we want it to be a good one!
We often ask clients to take a few deep breaths once they get on the waxing table
Relaxes their muscles once they get on the waxing table (don’t worry, it really doesn’t hurt that much!)
Know that it gets better
The first one does cause the most amount of discomfort, especially if you’ve been shaving prior to it, but often people end up leaving our room pleasantly relieved that it wasn’t nearly as bad as they expected
If you’re concerned about the potential for pain, take a couple of Advil 20 minutes before your appointment
Some clients feel this takes the edge off
